Is “how to” education dead?
I read somewhere recently that “how to” content is dead.
Thanks to content marketing, the world is flooded with tutorials, tips, and tactics … especially when it comes to content marketing itself.
Essentially, that’s what Copyblogger was back in the day. Tutorials, tips, and tactics
Difference is, back in 2006-2010 most people had never been exposed to the content marketing stuff I wrote about at Copyblogger. So it worked quite well, and resulted in an 8-figure software company.
Now, apparently, what’s needed is “Here’s how I did it” content. In other words, very specific guidance on what was done to achieve success from a specific person.
You know what? I agree.
That’s why after my company was acquired, I came back to teach content marketing strategy. That was in the form of pricey training programs costing thousands of dollars.
But that’s exactly what the Empowerment Marketing Framework is all about, applied specifically to the longevity economy. You get instant access to it when you join Longevity Gains Premium.
And now we’re into lessons from my new Leading Expert Methodology. This is basically the content marketing and copywriting course I’ve never offered before, again applied specifically to the longevity economy.
Leading Expert lessons are not just what I did, though. They’re what I did and specifically backed up by social psychology research, so you’ll be sure this is valid stuff and you can apply the techniques yourself.
Around the virtual office we call it “Copyblogger for grown ups.”
Some have already guessed that Leading Expert is also going to be its own thing, and it’s going to be an expensive thing. This is the methodology we use for our high-paying coaching and consulting clients.
I occasionally get the “Aren’t you giving away too much at this price point?” from my partners Trudi and Jerod. Hell, I’ve been giving away “too much” my entire career, and it’s worked out so far.
So, it’s fine with me. I alway offer my new stuff at a great price for early adopters. They give me feedback and help me refine the way I present the lessons in the future.
But it’s definitely time to raise the price. In fact, I would simply turn off payments for new Premium subscribers after this week if Substack would let me, but it doesn’t work that way.
So I’ll have to just jack up the price instead.
But it’s not all bad news. If you missed my Monday message, I’m actually dropping the subscription fee for Premium this week.
Yep… before the price increases on Friday, I’m dropping the price by 20% this week only – and it’s for the life of your subscription.
This knocks down the already reasonable investment for Longevity Gains Premium back to the introductory level I offered at the very beginning. But it won’t last long, and you won’t see it again after Friday.
